A system and a method for managing gift certificates usable in foreign countries, a gift certificate management server and a recording medium thereof are provided to remove need for making travelers exchange excessive foreign currency and carry cash by offering the gift certificates usable in foreign countries. An information provider(105) provides gift certificate information usable in the foreign countries to a customer terminal(145). An information receiver(110) receives gift certificate selection information from the customer terminal. An information checker(115) checks a foreign exchange rate between the currency to use the gift certificate and the currency settled by a customer. An information calculator(120) calculates settlement price information according to purchase of the selected gift certificates by responding to the checked foreign exchange rate. A settlement processor(125) processes a calculated settlement price by linking with the customer terminal and a foreign exchange processor.
