<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new polypeptide having diagnostic advantages or therapeutic advantages and to provide a nucleic acid molecule encoding the polypeptide. <P>SOLUTION: The IFN-L (interferon-like) polypeptide and a nucleic acid molecule encoding the polypeptide are provided. A selective binding factor, a vector, a host cell and a method for producing the IFN-L polypeptide are provided.
