PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic element including glass that reproduces a desired technical glass characteristic like PbO, although not including lead oxide. SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an electronic element covered by glass includes (1) a step for generating a suspension by processing with a liquid nonlead glass including the following composition (% by weight): 3 to 12% of SiO<SB>2</SB>, 24 to 35% of B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 0 to 6% of Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 0 to 5% of Cs<SB>2</SB>O, 0 to 5% of MgO, 0 to 5% of BaO, 0 to 5% of Bi<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 0.1 to 1% of CeO<SB>2</SB>, 0 to 1% of MoO<SB>3</SB>, 0 to 2% of Sb<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, and 50 to 65% of ZnO; (2) a step for applying this suspension to an element body; and (3) a step for sintering the element body.
