PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small driving device for a linear solenoid for suppressing a rush current upon the turning-on of the power and the influence of a regenerated current upon the turning-off of the power. SOLUTION: This driving device for driving the linear solenoid 20 comprises a first switch 50 and a second switch 5 for supplying a power supply from a battery 30 of a vehicle, a control unit 4 operated by the power supply supplied via the first switch 50, a bridge circuit 10 operated by the power supply supplied via the second switch 5, a capacitor C1 connected in parallel with the bridge circuit 10, and a precharge circuit 6 for charging the capacitor C1. In the driving device for driving the linear solenoid 20 by controlling the switching of switching means 1, 3 in the bridge circuit 10 by the control unit 4, the second switch 5 is controlled to be closed after a predetermined time has elapsed since the control unit 4 has started its operation.
