PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute file management and object management distinctively. SOLUTION: A video object (VOB) can be arranged divided into a plurality of extents to be arranged. In recording reproducing video management data, a cell (CELL) capable of designating an arbitrary range in the VOB can be defined. A plurality of program chains (PGC) for setting reproduction procedure by connecting the plurality of the cells can be defined. Between the cells belonging to the different PGC, the same part in the VOB can be designated with duplication. The recording reproducing video management data include information on a size of each of VOBUs and the number of the video display screens as the information regarding the time. The information on a file system includes file entry FE in which a recording position of a video file is described. The FE includes an allocation descriptor AD.
