摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon nanohorn capable of effectively manufacturing hydrogen with a high and stable conversion rate for a long time and its manufacturing method, and a manufacturing method of hydrogen. SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing the carbon nanohorn 1 by arranging a couple of electrodes 21 and 22 opposedly with a prescribed distance, at least one of them comprising mainly carbon, and generating an arc between the electrodes 21 and 22, both electrodes 21 and 22 are made into contact before the arc discharge and heated by flowing an electric current, then the contact is canceled and the arc discharge is initiated by making a prescribed distance between them 21 and 22. In this manufacturing method of hydrogen, a hydrocarbon is thermally decomposed to generate hydrogen in the presence of the carbon nanohorn 1 manufactured by the above-mentioned method.
