PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a key input unit capable of configuring a key input unit part and an illuminating unit part independently of each other and selecting easily whether or not the illuminating part is present. SOLUTION: The key input unit has a key input unit having a key cap part, a movable mechanism part, a pressure sensing part, and a frame part housing the components and an illuminating unit for illuminating the key cap part through the movable mechanism part and the pressure sensing part from a bottom surface of the key input part.
