PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for correcting and controlling the falling position of the leading end or the trailing end of a wire in a rolling mill which can control the falling position of the leading end or the trailing end of the wire material at a laying/forming head irrespective of the change of rolling conditions, such as size of rolled products, kinds of steel, speed, temperature. SOLUTION: The apparatus for correcting and controlling the falling position comprises the laying/forming head device which forms the rolled wire material into a ring and delivers the ring on a conveyer, and controls the falling position so as to be a required target position when the leading end or the trailing end of the ring shape wire material (coil) has fallen on the conveyer. The apparatus for correcting and controlling the falling position further comprises a correlation preserving means which achieves the correlation between the turn angle of the laying/forming head and the actual falling position, and preserves the correlation, and a target angle correcting means which corrects the target turn angle of the laying/forming head from the preserved correlation.
