PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game controller capable of surely finding the incorporation of a fraudulent microcomputer by performing mutual authentication between chips, avoiding the increase of the number of signal terminals of the chip and suppressing the enlargement of a package size. SOLUTION: Information for judging the validity of a one-chip microcomputer (75) for a game and chips (50 and 51) for input/output ports is transmitted and received through optical transmission/reception parts (89, 90, 98 and 99). The need of pattern wiring for that on a game control board is eliminated. Further, the need of the signal terminal for inputting and outputting the information for judging the validity in the respective packages of the one-chip microcomputer (75) for the game and the chips (50 and 51) for the input/output ports is eliminated as well, and the efficiency of the package size is improved. Additionally, a fraudulent circuit is not easily interposed on an information transmission route between the one-chip microcomputer for the game and the chips for the input/output ports, thereby improving the reliability of the controller.
