<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell with a large output voltage and output current obtained per unit cross-section area in a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) of a honeycomb unitary structure. <P>SOLUTION: The solid oxide fuel cell has an airtight solid electrolyte material of honeycomb structure as a barrier rib and is provided with a plurality of first gas passages, a plurality of second gas passages, a first electrode facing the first gas passages, and a second electrode facing the second gas passages. A plurality of electrochemical cells having as one unit at least a group of the first gas passage, the second gas passage, the first electrode, the second electrode, a first electrode terminal installed at the end of the gas passage of the first electrode, and a second electrode terminal installed at the opposite side of the first electrode terminal which generate unit electromotive force are arranged in a row on the same plane, and in arranging these, two adjoining electrochemical cells are connected electrically to the first electrode terminal or the second electrode terminal, to any of them, and the plurality of electrochemical cells are connected in series. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
