<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biomaterial which is excellent in biocompatibility, capability for adsorbing protein or bacteria, and photocatalysis, a medical material using the same, and its producing method. <P>SOLUTION: This biomaterial, composed of calcium phosphate particles and titanium oxide particles, is characterized by a calcium phosphate-titanium oxide composite particle structure in which titanium oxide particles are supported by calcium phosphate particles. This producing method includes: a process (1) which activates the surface of calcium phosphate particles in a buffer solution; a process (2) which prepares an emulsion solution by adding an alcoholic solution containing the surface-activated calcium phosphate particles obtained by the process (1) into a solution containing a solvent and a surfactant; a process (3) which adds a solution containing a stabilizer, alcohol, and a titanium compound into the emulsion solution obtained by the process (2); and a process (4) which after centrifuging, cleaning, and drying the solution obtained by the process (3), heats it at the temperatures of 400 to 750°C to produce the biomaterial constituted of titanium oxide particles supported by calcium phosphate particles. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
