NOISE CHARACTERISTIC ESTIMATING METHOD IN VIDEO, DISTRIBUTION ESTIMATING METHOD FOR SPEED VECTOR OF OBJECT IN VIDEO, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology of directly estimating noise amounts for each point of an obtained image, and estimating steady change as noise amounts and technology of estimating the distribution of steady speed vectors by using the result for speed calculation. SOLUTION: Noise characteristics are estimated by a noise characteristic estimation method having a steady state information storage processing 11 for storing an image in a steady state in a photographed image as a steady state image 12 and a noise characteristics estimation part 13 for estimating noise characteristics for each point on the image by analyzing the steady state image. Then, speed vector distribution is estimated by the distribution estimating method of speed vectors having processing object image selection processing for selecting an object image whose speed vectors are to be calculated from the photographed image and speed distribution estimation processing for estimating the distribution of speed vectors for each point in the image on the basis of the estimated noise characteristics and two images in the selected image.
