PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new process for preparing 15(S)-prostaglandin intermediates. SOLUTION: The process for preparing 15(S)-prostaglandin intermediates compounds (IV) and (XVIII) comprises: a step (1) of contacting the corresponding enone with (-)-chlorodiisopinocampheylborane while maintaining the reaction mixture temperature in the range of from about -50°C to about 0°C; and a step (2) of contacting the reaction mixture of step (1) with a boron complexing agent.
