摘要 A joint object position and posture estimating device enabling reduction of the cost of model fitting computation for estimating the position and posture and having an improved estimation speed. A posture model storage section (2) stores information on a posture model having low-dimension parameters under the movement restraint. The information is determined by analyzing the main components of the time-series postures of the joint object frame model corresponding to a predetermined limited movement of the joint object of a human body or the like. A human body position and posture estimating device (101) has a human model image creating section (4) which creates images of the postures of the joint object frame model within the range of the postures which the posture model takes on and a position and posture estimating section (10) which estimates a posture by matching with the joint object image to be estimated.
