The method for providing access (fig. 2) to operation information relating a digital signal, including providing a digital si encoded, in accordance with a layer encoding scheme, in a plurality of layers, and extracting operation information (fig. 3) from a fi layer of encoding within the digital signal, and placing the extracted information in a data section in a second layer of encoding wit the digital signal.
