A light emitting device and a passive matrix display are provided to increase the throughput and yield thereof in a multi-layout process for manufacturing plural light emitting devices from one large-sized substrate. A light emitting device includes an electroluminescence element formed over an insulator, a sealant surrounding the electroluminescence element, a covering material adhered to the insulator by the sealant, and a filling material is filled in a portion surrounded by the insulator, the covering material, and the sealant. A spacer is positioned in the portion surrounded by the insulator, the covering material, and the sealant. The filling material is a resin. |
