<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating the size uniformity and number of granular products, which are almost constant in size and arranged at an almost equal interval, in general. <P>SOLUTION: The variable density image obtained by imaging the granular product is binarized on the basis of a predetermined threshold value, labelling processing is applied to extracted granule regions to calculate the areas of the respective granule regions, the granule regions having an area not satisfying a preset first area threshold value are removed from an evaluation target as noise, the granule regions having an area more than a first area threshold value but less than a second area threshold value are extracted as normal granule regions, the number of them and the sum total of the normal granular regions are calculated, the granule regions having an area more than the second area threshold value are extracted as abnormal granule regions and the number of them and the sum total of the areas of the abnormal granule regions are calculated, the number of normal granules, the total area of the normal granules, the number of abnormal granules and the total area of the abnormal granules are compared with reference values. In the case where the number of the normal granules or the number of the abnormal granules does not satisfy the reference value or the number of the abnormal granules and the total area of the abnormal granules exceed the reference value, the quality of the granular products are judged to be not uniform. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
