PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic buffer free from delay in generation of damping force while securing a basic length. SOLUTION: This pneumatic buffer K comprising a cylinder 1, a piston 2 slidably inserted into the cylinder 1 and sectioning an operating chamber A formed in the cylinder 1, into one chamber R1 and the other chamber R2, and a rod 3 movably inserted into the cylinder 1 through the piston 2, further comprises reception members M1, M2 received in one or both of the chambers R1, R2 for reducing a volume of the operating chamber A, and the reception members M1, M2 comprises elastic portions a1, a2 kept into contact with the piston 2 or cylinder end portions 5, 6 at least when they expand in maximum.
