PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of detecting a refrigerant insufficient state in an early stage to protect equipment, irrespective of an operation of a refrigerating cycle. SOLUTION: In this air conditioner for controlling an operation of a compressor 4, based on the first index that is a differential pressure value provided by detecting a pressure difference between portions 9, 10 capable of detecting refrigerating cycle internal pressures in two portional positions, a state of refrigerant gas is judged using the second index found based on an at least one kind or more of data, out of four kinds of data comprising a low-pressure side pressure value PL calculated from the first index and a high-pressure side pressure value PH of the refrigerating cycle 3, a low-pressure side evaporation temperature TL calculated from the low-pressure side pressure value PL, a detected diffusing air temperature TA and low-pressure side pressure value PL, and the diffusing air temperature TA and the low-pressure side evaporation temperature TL, and the operation of the compressor 4 is operated based thereon.
