PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rack-cross type electric power steering device which does not need complicated engagement adjustment. SOLUTION: The EPS 1 is provided with a hollow shaft 3, an input shaft 6 obliquely arranged in relation to the hollow shaft 3, and a rotation transmitting mechanism 13 for connecting the hollow shaft 3 to the input shaft 6 to transmit rotation. The rotation transmitting mechanism 13 is provided with a rotor 22 having a plurality of balls 21 rotatably held in the periphery thereof at positions with an equal space and a nearly annular gear 23 to be engaged with the rotor 22. The rotation transmitting mechanism 13 connects the rotor 22 to the gear 23, namely the input shaft 6 to the hollow shaft 3 freely to transmit rotation by engaging the rotor 22 with the gear 23 so that at least one tooth of the gear 23 is pinched by adjacent two balls 21 of the rotor 22.
