<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizer protective film which has excellent ultraviolet ray absorption capacity, excellent heat resistance, excellent transparency and favorable appearance of a film surface and which can be manufactured by stable film formation, to provide a polarizing plate which uses a polarizer formed of the polarizer protective film and a polyvinyl alcohol resin and which has little appearance defect and further to provide an image display apparatus of high definition which uses the polarizing plate. <P>SOLUTION: The polarizer protective film has an outermost layer (B1), an intermediate layer (A) and an outermost layer (B2) in this order. The outermost layer (B1) is a resin layer containing a (meth)acrylic resin as a principal component and containing no ultraviolet ray absorber. The intermediate layer (A) is a resin layer containing the (meth)acrylic resin as the principal component and containing the ultraviolet ray absorber.
