ENSURING PRIVACY DURING PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENTS

Hand-free devices are used in order to increase operational comfort of technical devices and to improve road safety whilst driving motor vehicles. Other people in the surrounding area of the user of the hand-free device pose problems with respect to the conversation, i.e. in relation to the privacy of the user and in relation to acoustic disturbances to other people. As a result, the acoustic output of information by means of the loudspeaker is controlled based on the sound level which is determined in the surrounding area of the listener and the loud speaker. The public announcement is optimised in relation to the listener such that it can still be heard with good comprehensibility.
