Use is claimed in the production of surface-coated articles of a composition containing (A) a film-forming binder system containing a crosslinkable polymer; (B) optionally a crosslinker; (C) (i) a spherical particle filler of average diameter 0.1-50 mu and/or (ii) a reinforcing filler different from (i) and of BET specific surface area above 50 m2>/g; (D) optionally a catalyst containing a metal or metal compound; (E) optionally a reaction modulator, e.g. an inhibitor; and (F) optionally auxiliaries.
