A method for storing a display image of executive video contents in an embedded system is provided to prevent damage of upper and lower images of a source image which may generated according as an encoder reads image data before a renderer completely writes the image data in a buffer memory, by temporarily locking a frame buffer where the image data of the display image is rendered, thereby storing the display image, outputted through a screen of a display apparatus during execution of the video contents in the embedded system, as an image or a video without deterioration of picture quality. When image data is completely updated by a renderer(140) to a display apparatus buffer installed within a display apparatus controller for controlling a display apparatus to display video contents as an image, a CPU(Central Processing Unit, microprocessor) locks the display apparatus buffer to temporarily intercept image data update from the outside(S307). The CPU enables an encoder(150) to read the image data of the display apparatus buffer and compress the image data into a file having a predetermined format before storing the compressed file in a storage. After that, the CPU unlocks the display apparatus buffer(S309,S311,S313).
