PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a running controller for a vehicle for preventing the deterioration in riding comfort of a riding person by preventing the step in an acceleration in the own vehicle when catching up a preceding vehicle, while not requiring a complicated software configuration. SOLUTION: A steady traveling state target acceleration calculation part 22 calculates a steady traveling state target acceleration, based on a relative distance L between the steady vehicle and the own vehicle, a target vehicle interval AL, a relative speed VR, and control gains K1, K2 for a steady traveling state. A specified traveling state target acceleration calculation part 23 calculates a specified state target acceleration at2 through the use of a vehicle speed V, the relative speed VR, a preceding vehicle speed VF, a control gain K3 for a specified traveling state, and an offset coefficientα.
