<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus, wherein a recording area of a buffer memory is effectively used. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus has an imaging part, a compression processing part, a correlation data holding part, a first operation part and a second operation part. The imaging part generates photographic image data. The image processing part performs compression processing of the photographic image data. The correlation data holding part holds a plurality of pieces of correlation data between variation of scale factors and variation of amount of compression data of sample image data. The first operation part calculates an initial scale factor from reference correlation data and a target amount of compression data generated from image data including high frequency component most of sample image data. The second operation part judges necessity and unnecessity of recompression processing to which a different scale factor is applied based on difference between the amount of target compression data and a compression result of photographed image data and calculates a scale factor in the recompression processing so that data compression rate becomes small based on the compression result of the photographed image data and the correlation data when the recompression processing is performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
