<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a discount when drink is sold by using a noncontact-type terminal in a vending machine from which one can buy an article by using the noncontact-type terminal. <P>SOLUTION: A control device of a vending machine is provided with; a noncontact-type terminal data reading means 1; an amount of discount data storage means 2; a sales possibility determination means 3; an article selection means 4; an article discharge means 5; and a computation control part 6a. By this, when the amount of discount data are received from the noncontact-type terminal data reading means 1, the computation control part 6a makes the amount of discount data storage means 2 store the amount of discount data, and then the article selection means 4 is operated, which belongs to a column whose sale becomes possible after confirmation of payment by the sales possibility determination means 3. Accordingly, instructions are given to the article discharge means 5 to discharge articles for the discount sale.
