PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low cost liquid crystal display free from the contact of a liquid crystal shutter with a liquid crystal panel. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display is provided with the liquid crystal panel 2, the liquid crystal shutter 3 and a light guide plate 4 which are positioned in this order on the back surface side of the liquid crystal panel 2, a lamp set 6a arranged to be opposed to the end surface of the light guide plate 4, a frame body 8 for supporting each edge part of the liquid crystal panel 2, the liquid crystal shutter 3 and the light guide plate 4 and an outer frame 9 covering the respective components and formed picture frame-like. Respective opening parts 13 and 16 are formed on each center of the liquid guide plate 4 and the outer frame 9 and the liquid crystal shutter 3 is arranged to be curved to the back surface side in the opening part 13 of the light guide plate 4.
