PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overcoated optical fiber from which an overcoat layer is surely removed in such a manner that the length of the overcoat layer surely removable in one operation is longer than ever before and whose surface is not sticky and does not stick to other materials, that is to say, which is free from tackiness. SOLUTION: The overcoated optical fiber 19 is constituted of a coated optical fiber 1 wherein a glass fiber 30 is coated with a resin layer 31, and the overcoat layer 16 applied to the coated optical fiber 1. The curing degree at the inner surface 16a of the overcoat layer 16 is 70-92% and the curing degree at the outer surface 16b of the overcoat layer 16 is≥95%. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
