Provided is a lithium secondary battery, which has good safety such as short-circuit resistance and heat resistance and causes no thickness change of the battery even during high-temperature storage. The lithium secondary battery comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator for separating the two electrodes from each other, and a non-aqueous electrolytic solution. The separator comprises porous film formed by a mixture of a ceramic material and a binder. The binder includes at least one selected from crystalline resins having a crystal melting point of 250‹C or higher or amorphous resins having an initial decomposition temperature of 250‹C or higher.
