An apparatus for automatically opening a vacuum envelope is provided to automatically perform a vacuum packing work by containing various vacuum packing materials into the interior of the vacuum envelope. An apparatus for automatically opening a vacuum envelope includes a support(15), a pair of arms(20a,20b), a width regulating unit(40), envelope opening units(30a,30b), and a vacuum source(80). The support is connected to a feeding mechanism and can be moved. The arms can be moved widthwise on the support and be extended to both side surfaces of the vacuum envelope. The width regulating unit includes a motor unit for moving the arms to regulate the positions of the arms. The envelope opening units are mounted to the tip ends of the arms and absorb both surfaces of the vacuum envelope by introducing the vacuum pressure into the interiors thereof. The vacuum source endows the envelope opening units with vacuum pressure.
