<p>In an optical module for an automobile light which emits beam(s) with a cut-off portion, comprising a light source within a reflector (R), a dioptric element (L) in front of the reflector and a screen (C) between the source and element to intercept some emitted light rays, an additional reflective optical element (EO), between the source and the screen and near the screen, redirects light rays emitted towards the screen above the screen edge. An optical module (specifically an elliptical module) for an automobile light which emits beam(s) with a cut-off portion comprises a light source within a reflector (R), a dioptric element (L) (specifically a convergent lense) in front of the reflector and a screen (C) between the source and the dioptric element, having active position(s) in which some emitted light rays are intercepted to cut off part of the beam. The novel feature is that an additional optical element (EO) with reflective surface(s), located between the source and the screen and near the active edge of the screen, redirects light rays emitted in the direction of the screen above the active edge of the screen. An independent claim is included for an automobile headlight having at least one of the optical elements.</p> |
