METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR AUDIO REPRODUCTION SUPPORTING AUDIO THUMBNAIL FUNCTION

An audio reproducing method for supporting an audio thumbnail function and an apparatus therefor are provided to allow a user to search several audio files once and more quickly select/listen to a desired audio file by simultaneously outputting audio thumbnails which represent respective audio files and outputting one of the audio files on the basis of selection of the user who listens to simultaneous output sounds of the audio thumbnails. A sound image localization control unit(26) performs the sound image localization of audio thumbnails which represent a plurality of audio files in a plurality of directions. The first output control unit(27) simultaneously outputs the audio thumbnails sound-localized by the sound image localization control unit(26). The second output control unit(31) outputs one of the audio files on the basis of the selection of a user who listens to the simultaneous output sounds of the audio thumbnails outputted by the first output control unit(27).
