摘要 A method for controlling a cooling apparatus is provided to control cooling capacities of first and second evaporators differently by reducing an amount of refrigerant introduced into the first evaporator while increasing refrigerant introduced to the second one by controlling an area of a variable area expansion unit, thereby realizing efficient distribution of the cooling capacities for the evaporators. A method for controlling a cooling apparatus includes the steps of checking any request on cooling capacity change is input while first and second indoor units are all in operation(402,404), and decreasing an area of a variable area expansion unit through refrigerant temperature parameter control if cooling capacity increase is requested for a second evaporator of the second indoor unit(406). According to the decrease, an amount of refrigerant supplied to a first evaporator is decreased and refrigerant supplied to the second evaporator is increased, so that the cooling capacity of the second indoor unit is increased relatively(408). The refrigerant temperature parameter is fixed to a current value to fix a current area of the variable area expansion unit as the cooling capacity of the second evaporator reaches a target cooling capacity, and the current cooling capacity is kept continuously until a temperature of a room installed with the second indoor unit reaches a target temperature(410,412).
