A mobile terminal having a power supply function according to a signal and a method using the same are provided to prevent a lost mobile terminal of a user from being used by someone else because a signal which is generated by attaching a signal transmission unit should be received for supplying power to the mobile terminal. A signal transmission unit(110) transmits a signal required for supplying power to a mobile terminal when it is attached on the mobile terminal. A signal receiving unit(120) receives a signal required for supplying the power. A controller(130) determines whether to supply power to the mobile terminal according to the received signal. A power supply unit(140) supplies power to the mobile terminal according to a control signal of the controller(130).
