<p>A device (2) for transmitting an optical signal (OS) via an optical transmission link (4), which induces chromatic dispersion of the optical signal (OS), the device (2) comprising filter means (6) for predistorting the optical signal (OS) in accordance with an input signal (IN) for the filter means (6) prior to transmission via the optical transmission link (4), according to the present invention said filter means (6) comprise at least one feed forward equaliser (13, 14). Thus the inventive device (2) can be used in data transmission systems, which are subject to chromatic dispersion of the transmitted signals (OS) to drastically reduce the complexity of system realisation, hence leading to lower system costs with respect to hardware expenditure as well as power consumption.</p> |
