<p>Te clamping system comprises a rotating spindle (12) mountable on the machine tool and having an axial cavity (22) provided with a tapering portion (42) for receiving a tool-clampind device (18). The latter comprises an insert (18) provided with a tapering neck (48) engageable with a close fit within the tapering portion (42) of the spindle, with an annular projection (50) which is biased with a first level surface (50b) thereof extending at right angles to the rotation axis, against an opposite, second level surface (28a) defined on the spindle, by fastening means (54), and with tool-clamping means (62). The axial cavity (22) is provided with first facets (P) engaged with a close fit by corresponding second facets (S) on the outer surface of the insert (18) for rotational coupling purposes.</p> |
