A method and an apparatus for driving an OLED(Organic Light Emitting Diode) are provided to minimize power consumption of an OLED panel by effectively performing charging and discharging processes. A first storage unit(41) stores gradation data to be displayed through an OLED. A second storage unit(42) stores gradation data, which had been displayed through the OLED. Calculators(43,44,45) calculate a pre-charging value, which is used to pre-charge the OLED, based on the gradation data, which are stored in the first and second storage units. A data selector(46) selectively outputs the gradation data of the first storage unit and the resultant data of the calculators. A current driving unit(47) supplies a driving current, which corresponds to the data output from the selector, to the OLED.
