A method of determining a program which a user prefer is provided to analyze program preference of the user and produce a more convenient watching environment based on the analyzed result. A selected program is broadcasted when a user inputs a program selecting instruction(S200), and watching information about the selected program is stored to update previously stored watching history information(S202). User preference is analyzed by using watching history information stored for a predetermined period of time(S204) and information about the user preference is stored(S206). A watching/recording inquiry image of a corresponding program is displayed based on the stored preference information at corresponding time(S208). The watching history information includes a watching program, the channel of the watching program, and watching time.
