A plasma display panel and a driving method thereof are provided to enhance discharge efficiency and image quality by generating at least one sustain discharge with one sustain pulse. A plasma display panel includes an energy recovery unit(10), a square wave supply unit(20), and a semi-sinusoidal wave supply unit(30). The energy recovery unit recovers and supplies the energy, which is consumed for a sustain discharge. The square wave supply unit supplies a square wave having a first voltage to a panel capacitor, during a sustain period. The semi-sinusoidal wave supply unit supplies a semi-sinusoidal wave, which is overlapped with the square wave and increased up to a second voltage. The semi-sinusoidal wave supply unit includes at least one capacitor(C1) and an inductor(L1), so that the semi-sinusoidal wave is increased to the second voltage.
