A system for monitoring inter-office signal messages and a method therefor are provided to automatically collect inter-office signal messages transceived between a home network and a visitor network, and to decode the collected messages, thereby obtaining fault factors or statistical information of a roaming service by monitoring the messages. A home network(200) is equipped with a monitoring unit(240) on a transceiving channel of inter-office signal messages so as to automatically store and decode the inter-office signal messages generated while a roaming service is executed in a visitor network(100) through a roaming-registered subscriber terminal. The monitoring unit(240) is comprised to connect an STP(Signal Transfer Point)(250) of the home network(200) with an STP(130) of the visitor network(100).
