The clamp has a carrier plate at which a vehicle number plate is fastened, and a fastening device (6) for fastening the carrier plate at the vehicle. The device has a base part (9) arranged at the carrier plate and a locking part (10) rotatably arranged in the base part, where the locking part rotates relative to the base part around an axis of rotation (13). The locking part has a clamp (14), and is pivotable between an original position and a locking position around the axis, where the clamp grips a clamping contour (15) to fasten the carrier plate at the vehicle in the locking position. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle e.g. passenger car, with a number plate clamp.
