The present invention relates to novel antiviral helioxanthin analogs. These compounds may particularly be used alone or in combination with other drugs for the treatment of the following: hepadnaviruses, flaviviruses, herpesviruses and human immunodeficiency virus. In addition, compounds according to the present invention can be used to prevent or reduce the likelihood of the occurrence of tumors secondary to virus infection as well as other infections or disease states that are secondary to the virus infection. ® KIPO & WIPO 2007
