An electroluminescent device and an electroluminescent device unit are provided to reduce a difference of electric current flowing through an electroluminescent layer in a lateral direction by allowing electric current flowing from an anode terminal to uniformly flow through the electroluminescent layer. An electroluminescent device includes an electroluminescent layer being substantially rectangular in plan view and having two long sides and two short sides, a first electrode connected to a first surface of the electroluminescent layer, a second electrode connected to a second surface of the electroluminescent layer, a first terminal connected to the first electrode, and a second terminal connected to the second electrode. The first terminal is formed along one long side of the electroluminescent layer, and the second terminal is formed along the same long side as the first terminal of the electroluminescent layer or the other long side thereof.
