An AM(Amplitude Modulation) radio receiving circuit is provided to conduct interpolation processing before detection processing, so that distortion of a signal obtained after interpolation can be suppressed, consequently the distortion rate of a voice signal is improved while throughput of the interpolation processing is reduced. A front end circuit converts an inputted AM signal into an IF(Intermediate Frequency) signal to output the IF signal. A pulse noise detection circuit(14) detects pulse noise included in the AM signal. A pulse noise elimination circuit(15) outputs the IF signal by eliminating pulse noise included in the IF signal outputted from the front end circuit, based on the detected results of the pulse noise detection circuit(14). A detection circuit(17) detects the IF signal outputted after the pulse noise is eliminated, and outputs a voice signal.
