A drawing type rod is provided to prevent adhesion state of a joint part of a small diametric rod and a large diametric rod, and to improve an operation feeling in a joint operation. The drawing type rod includes a joint part(B) for holding a small diametric rod(1) with respect to a large diametric rod(2) in an extension state. The joint part comprises a straight cylindrical part(2B) formed on the large diametric rod and having a contract surface that holds a regular diameter, and a protrusion part(1a) formed on the small diametric rod and coming in contact with the contact surface of the straight cylindrical part. A surface layer of the protrusion part that comes in contact with the straight cylindrical part comprises a prepreg formed by impregnating a reinforcing fiber mixed and arranged in a rod axis direction with resin.
