An electric fan including a control system is provided to automatically operate the same or to repeat a timer when a user is sleeping. An electric fan includes a control section(10), an optical sensor(20), a manipulation section(30), a drive motor(40), a fan(50), a rotational motor(60), and a power source(70). The optical sensor detects the illumination intensity of an area in which the electric fan is installed and detects whether an external illumination is turned on or off. The detected information of the optical sensor is transmitted to the control section. The control section controls at least one of the drive motor and the rotational motor on the basis of the information transferred from the optical sensor and the operation condition.
