A device and a method for setting a right to email contents and transmitting the contents in an email system are provided to increase security for an email message by reforming the email message to the email message discriminated into each receiver and transmitting the reformed email message if the email message including a body which sets the right to each receiver is received. An email client(100) receives and sets the right of each receiver to the email message, generates right data according to right assignment, and encodes/transmits the email message to an email server(120) by inserting the right data into the email message. The email server decodes the email message received from the email client, reforms the decoded email message according to the right data, and encodes the reformed email message. The email server includes a decoder(129), a right data interpreter(125), and a controller(121). The controller determines whether the right is set to the email message by using the right data included in the received email message, decodes the email message by using the decoder, interprets the right data by using the right data interpreter, and reforms the decoded email message by using the interpreted right data. |
