A method of setting up optimal conditions for recycling the asphalt shingles by separating asphalt from waste asphalt shingles through chemical treatment is provided to recycle the waste asphalt shingles, prevent environmental pollution and prevent loss of resources. As a method for separating asphalt from asphalt shingles used as a roof material by using an aqueous sulfuric acid solution, the method comprises: preparing the aqueous sulfuric acid solution by mixing sulfuric acid with water in a weight ratio range of 19:1 to 5:1; injecting the prepared aqueous sulfuric acid solution into a reactor, and putting asphalt shingles into the reactor containing the aqueous sulfuric acid solution; agitating the asphalt shingles and the asphalt shingles in the reactor to obtain a mixed solution; and separating asphalt shingle components from the mixed solution. |
