SYSTEM FOR JOINING IMAGE AND INTERNET PAGE, AND METHOD THEREOF

A system and a method for connecting to the wireless Internet through a mobile terminal having a character recognition function are provided to implement a function connecting to the network with a wireless Internet URL(Uniform Resource Locator) by detecting text data from captured image data and searching the wireless Internet URL matched with the text data. A controller(130) transfers the image data stored in a memory(110) to a character recognition program(140). The character recognition program decodes the received text data and stores the decoded text data to the memory through the controller. The decoded text data is displayed to a screen display. If a user selects a desired character string and pushes a wireless Internet connection button, the controller connects to a default connection URL for a character recognition/connection system(7000). The controller transfers the decoded text data stored in the memory to a server(5000) of the character recognition/connection system through a communicator(120). The controller of the server searches the wireless Internet URL matched with the decoded text data.
